Nicholaus Doctissimus
this day I would’ve preferred:
raindrops hazing a thin
mist on the surfaced grounds
beside the grass and cars,
so perfect to obscure
my clarity of vision.
preferred to this day: sun
and shine and studded lawns
of undergraduates
squinting in the daylight
unable to make out
when I become a doctor.

Congratulations, doctor Nicholaus! You sound exactly like me when I indulge myself, which I rarely do now. but you are totally entitled to this luxury.
I like "studded lawns."
I will practice some reding here and find a double meaning in "unable to make out." Certainly your presence anywhere near me in the act of love would render me unable to make out with anybody.
Dr. Noodle is what you are!
Why is it that, no matter what the day, no one can see very well? In any case, congratulations Hank. And you did it without having a stroke!
